Ha`aheo O Hawai`i

No prior dance experience is required for the introductory hula class. 

Respect and appreciation of the Hawaiian culture, and embracing the spirit of aloha will  enhance your hula experience.

Classes are held at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center

Membership in a City of Albuquerque Community or Senior Center is required to attend class or participate in activities at North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Community Center.  Membership is $20/year and is valid for use at any City of Albuquerque Community or Senior Center.   Sign up or update an existing membership at the front desk. 

Check in at the Fitness Center desk with your valid membership card is required prior to each class.

Your journey into the grace and beauty of the hula begins with this INTRO TO HULA class.  Emphasis will be on basic hand and foot hula motions in preparation for dancing choreographed hulas.  Hawaiian words, phrases, and traditions as well as hula will be taught.  This is an on-going class. New hula steps and more complex hand motions will be incorporated into hulas as students progress.

Monthly tuition is $35 for 4 classes and includes hula music and all printed class handouts.  Tuition is due on on the first class of each month.   No tuition proration for missed classes.  Direct payment to Cindi Heffner accepted via cash, check or Venmo.

Admission to this on-going class requires 
completion of Introduction to Hula class.  Students in this class are learning hula choreographies and chants.  Some students that have reached a level of proficiency may be invited to dance in community hula presentations.
